As entertaining to drive as it is visually appealing, the Mazda3 has a relatively low sticker price, is fuel efficient and chock full of standard features. Though the price is slightly higher than some other economy cars, it can be justified by its solid build, functionally designed and comfortable interior and impressive handling. The only changes for the 2008 model year are the addition of front seat side and full length side curtain airbags to the standard equipment list of the ’s’ trim models.

The compact Mazda3 sedan is available in the i Sport, i Touring, s Sport, s Touring and s Grand Touring trims. All models are front wheel drive and models with the ‘i’ prefix come standard with a 148 horsepower 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine, while those with the ’s’ prefix are equipped with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine that delivers 153 horsepower. Both engines come standard with 5 speed manual transmission., but a 4 speed automatic with manual override is optional for ‘i’ models, while the ’s’ models can be equipped with an upgraded a 5-speed automatic with manual override. Gas mileage is admirable, with EPA estimates of 23 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway for the 2.0 liter engine with 4 speed automatic transmission. The 2.3 liter mated to the 5 speed automatic is rated almost as well at 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

All Mazda3 ‘i’ sedans come standard with a convenient 60/40 split folding rear seat with center armrest and an AM/FM/CD stereo system with an auxiliary audio jack. The i Touring has 16 inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, cruise control, an upgraded audio system, keyless entry, a height-adjustable driver seat and power windows, door locks and mirrors. Mazda3 ’s’ models come with all of the features found in the ‘i’ Touring and adds distinctive interior and exterior styling cues including fog lights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with built in audio system controls. The s Touring upgrades the wheels to 17 inch alloys and adds sporty side molding, while s Grand Touring adds heated leather seats, automatic climate control, xenon headlights, rain-sensing wipers and a trip computer. Additional options include satellite radio, a moon roof, a navigation system and an in-dash CD changer.

Refined yet exceptionally entertaining, the 2008 Mazda Mazda3 Sedan has a chic interior a sharp exterior style that definitely deserves favorable mention. For a small, affordably priced economy car with plenty of acceleration and luxury features, the Mazda3 Sedan is simply hard to beat.

This five-passenger family sedan, comparing nicely to the Honda Civic, comes in five different trims, so buyers can choose the Mazda3 Sedan that meets their unique driving needs. With two engine selections, three transmission choices, and several optional features, the 2009 Mazda3 is one of the most highly customizable sedans on the market. Buyers will be impressed with the reasonable intro price, and tech-savvy individuals will be pleased with the advanced standard and available features. However, the overall safety is a bit lacking in the model.

Under the hood, the Mazda Mazda3 can be fitted with either a 148 horsepower 4.0L four-cylinder or a 156 horsepower 2.3L four-cylinder engine. Both engine selections include variable valve timing. This feature controls the exhaust intake to enhance the model’s fuel efficiency. Standard on all trims is a five-speed manual transmission, but the lower trims can be upgraded to a four-speed automatic with manual shift mode, while the higher trims can be fitted with a five-speed Sport automatic with manual shift. The manual transmission model gets an impressive 24 city MPG and 32 highway MPG, and the automatic is estimated at 23 city MPG and 30 highway MPG.

, this 2009 Mazda is packed full of amenities. Automatic climate control is standard on the s Grand Touring trim, and all trims receive a CD player with MP3 compatibility, automatic volume level control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a rearview mirror that adjusts for day and night. The tire pressure monitoring system includes a digital readout in the instrument cluster. It continuously observes every tire’s pressure and signals drivers if a tire is low or has too much pressure. Several features that buyers can upgrade to are an in-dash six-disc CD changer, a DVD-based navigation unit (only on the s Grand Touring trim), and a power sliding glass moonroof.

Safety is covered with anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution, an engine immobilizer anti-theft system, and complete airbag protection for all five passengers. The security system will automatically disengage the engine in the event of a break-in. Some potential buyers could be disappointed that stability control and traction control are only available on the two highest trims though.

On the whole, the 2009 Mazda Mazda3 Sedan is a stylish, modern vehicle geared more toward the younger set. With an intro price of $14,490, it is also affordable for the first-time buyer. Larger families will find the Mazda3 constricting, and those looking for a significant amount of entertainment for children will need to move on to another model.

Both the sedan and the wagon-hatchback immediately gained the favorable approval of the American public and automotive industry specialists.

The two trim levels that were available for the 2004 and 2005 model years were the ‘i’ and the ’s’, with the ‘SP23′ Special Edition being manufactured for 2005 only. All were competitively priced, successfully conveyed an appealing vision of luxury and distinction and an upscale kind of comfort inside. All models benefited from a 2.0 or a 2.3 liter inline 4 cylinder engine and all models were front wheel drive.

In 2006 , ‘i’ and ’s’ touring trim models were added to the lineup, as was an ’s’ Grand Touring model. The new trim packages combined a variety of comfort and convenience features as well as sport performance details while the MAZDA3 enjoyed being amongst the top selling economy cars and continued to receive much praise for its novel approach to designing and manufacturing the economy car. The 2.0 liter engines were enhanced with variable valve timing and 2.3 liter models returned with variable intermittent front wipers and anti lock brakes as part of the vehicles standard features.

The Mazda MAZDA3 for the 2007 model year proved to make a very good thing even better. As in the previous model year, some optional or unavailable features were added to each of the models list of standard features in 2007 including a rear seat center armrest, additional power outlets and auxiliary input jacks and a tire pressure monitor. All models were now available with either manual or automatic transmissions, too. In addition, a stability control system was made available for the upscale Touring and Grand Touring models. The base model, ‘i’ Sport sedan comes nicely equipped with a peppy 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder engine. Standard features include a CD stereo system with audio input-output jack, 60-40 split folding back seat with a center armrest and tilt steering. The remaining various models and trims provide the option to customize your MAZDA3 to accommodate different and more advanced degrees of comfort and style. All eye candy and cushy comfort aside, the economically priced high quality MAZDA3 is a great value for the money; has a superbly refined suspension, braking system and steering mechanism accompanied by sophisticated and more than adequately sized engines which help to deliver the type of smooth ride you might expect in a larger sedan, yet it is still small and nimble enough to be a lot of fun.

CX-7 received a rating of five starts in the crash category and four in rollover ratings. There are three models, the Sport ($24,345), the Touring ($26,095) and the Grand Touring ($26,895). All are powered by a 244 horsepower engine with an automatic transmission (six speeds.)Estimated fuel consumption on the FWD models is 19 city and 24 highway with AWD returning 18 / 24.

Systems are in place for brake force monitoring and distribution, control of the vehicle’s stability, and traction. Occupants are protected by twin airbags in the front as well as those that shield against collision from the side and in the event of a roll over. To guard against theft, the CX-7 has an immobilization feature for the engine and entry via remote with an included panic button.

The standard audio system in the 2007 Mazda CX-7 is a combo unit playing across nine speakers with an option for a Bose system with surround sound. (A navigation system based on DVDs with command by both voice and touch screen is an option as is a camera to monitor reverse motion.)

The well built interior is visually appealing with a sport style steering wheel and gauges as well as extra plush comfortable seating, but it does lack some of the interior conveniences found in some other vehicles in its class. After its 2007 debut, the CX-7 returns unchanged but just as desirable for the 2008 model year.

This fun to drive Mazda is available in 3 trims beginning with the entry level CX-7 Sport which comes standard with 18 inch alloy wheels, power windows, door locks and mirrors; cruise control, air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD audio system and a 6 way power adjustable driver seat. The CX-7 Touring adds heated leather seats and increases the level of adjustability for the driver seat. The top of the line CX-7 Grand Touring includes all of these features and adds heated side view mirrors, xenon headlights, upgraded leather upholstery and automatic climate control. All 3 versions can be enhanced with options, some grouped into packages like the Technology Package, which includes a rear park assist system and a rearview camera, a navigation system and a keyless ignition feature. A Preferred Equipment Package is also available to facilitate transporting a multitude of personal items and includes a rear bumper step plate, cargo tray, cargo net, and retractable cargo cover.

The CX-7 is available with either all wheel drive or front wheel drive. The one and only powertrain is a 2.3 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that delivers a respectable 244 horsepower that is paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission with manual shift capability. Despite its nearly 2 ton weight, the CX-7 offers brisk performance and easily goes from 0 to 60 in under 8 seconds. Unfortunately, enjoying the invigorating ride comes at the sacrifice of fuel efficiency, with the all wheel drive versions rated at 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Towing capacity is also less than average for this class, with 2000 pounds being the maximum.

The entertaining and affordably priced 2008 Mazda CX-7 offers more acceleration than just about any other vehicle in its class. Plenty of power combined with its firm suspension and nimble steering offer the driving excitement typically associated with a much more expensive, sport oriented sedan. With the rear seats folded down, the CX-7 provides a little less than 60 cubic feet of cargo space, and about 30 cubic feet available with passengers occupying the rear seats. Emphasizing sport over utility, the provocative and edgy styling of the CX-7 will certainly appeal to those who need the additional passenger and cargo space yet still want to feel as though they are driving something more exciting than an SUV.

The 2009 CX-7 is a carryover from the prior model year. With a sleek, modern design, the CX-7 is ahead of the competition in style, but poor fuel economy puts it close to the bottom in its category. Also, with only one engine choice and one transmission choice, buyers might be put off by the lack of customization. However, with available all-wheel drive, the 2009 CX-7 is adaptable for both highway and off-road driving.

Under the hood, the Mazda CX-7 is equipped with a 244 horsepower 2.3L I4. Some buyers might be put off by the lack of V6 or V8 power. Also, only a six-speed automatic transmission is provided. Dynamic Stability Control and traction control give the CX-7 a smoother ride than most of the comparables on the market. Dynamic Stability Control automatically corrects oversteering or understeering by applying the brakes and/or modifying the engine output. This feature can help prevent accidents and simply keep the CX-7 firmly on the road.

Inside, this 2009 Mazda includes power windows and locks, a great deal of storage, and two auxiliary 12-volt power outlets. Also featured is privacy-tinted rear window glass, an MP3-adaptable audio system, a trial subscription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and an optional navigation unit with rearview backup camera. This navigation system includes touchscreen controls, turn-by-turn directions, and onscreen audio and climate display information. With so many interior features, buyers will be hard pressed to find another model that surpasses the CX-7.

With 17 city MPG and 23 highway MPG, the Mazda CX-7 rates poorly in fuel efficiency. Potential buyers in search of a mid-size SUV with impressive fuel economy should look elsewhere at the wealth of other options on the American market. Not only that, with an intro MSRP of $23,900 the low price is reflected in the lack of standard features. Buyers will have to upgrade to one of the higher trim levels to really get a wide array of additions.

The 2009 Mazda CX-7 is an introductory mid-size SUV for the family on a budget. However, those that are looking for luxury additions and impressive power would do well to check out other models. Nevertheless, the modern style and aerodynamic design might be appealing to a younger audience. With the CX-7, buyers get what they pay for.

The CX-7 made an even bigger impression at the 2007 Geneva Car Show, where it impressed even the jaded European audience. This uniquely designed cross over vehicle is available in three trim levels and all models are available in either front wheel drive or all wheel drive. Though other manufacturers beat Mazda to the punch in delivering a cross over vehicle in response to increasing public demand, the CX-7 is surprisingly responsive and visually striking. This cross over was designed with the interior, exterior and performance that appeals to those who want a sports car but need more cargo or passenger space and to those who like the storage capacity and passenger space available in a cross over vehicle but want the aesthetic appeal and driving dynamics of a sports car.

The CX-7 is available in three trim levels. The Sport, Touring and Grand Touring models range in options, features, accessories and price, but the power and performance is very similar across the board. All models come equipped with a direct injection 2.3 liter inline 4 cylinder turbocharged engines that deliver 244 horsepower. The standard transmission is a six speed automatic with the ability to also be operated manually. The 2008 models include an enhanced engine and new catalytic converter which prompts a recommendation for premium fuel only, though it is not mandatory. The Sport models comes standard with power mirrors and windows, cruise control, 18″ alloy wheels, keyless entry system and air conditioning. Moving up to the Touring models will additionally net heated leather trimmed front seats and an accommodating power driver’s seat. The Grand Touring models picks up where the Touring models left off and adds leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and state of the art HID headlights in addition to heated exterior mirrors. Additional option packages are available for all three models. A premium Bose audio system and moon roof represent one option package. The Technology Package is pretty outstanding and equips the CX-7 with moon roof, premium audio, navigation system, rearview camera and park assist as well as keyless start systems. The preferred equipment package includes some of the most useful cargo area features such as a retracting cargo cover, step plate and cargo net and tray.

The Mazda CX-7 is a great value and a superior cross over in today’s market. This is exactly what American consumers had been asking for - practical and adaptable passenger and cargo space, a vehicle feels sporty and fun to drive, security and safety rich and thereby incorporates a sports car concept into the practicalities of the daily drive.

    B2300 regular cab ($16,170), the B3000 Cab +4 ($19,675), the B3000 DS regular cab ($20,310), the B3000 DS Cab +4 ($22,065), the B4000 Cab +4 ($22,680), and the B4000 SE Cab +4 ($27,225). The B2300 has a 2.3-liter, 16-valve 4-cylinder while the 3000 models have a 3-liter, 12-valve V6. The 4000s are outfitted with a 4-liter, 12-valve V6. A manual transmission with five speeds is standard on all models except the B4000 SE Cab +4, which has an automatic transmission with five speeds.

Average payload capacity for the B-Series is 1,260 lbs. with the B3000 Cab +4 jumping to 1,680. The base B2300 model can pull loads of 1,580 lbs. with the manual transmission and 2,260 with the automatic. The B4000 SE Cab +4 with the automatic can handle 5600 lbs. Estimated fuel economy on the base model is 24 city, 29 highway with the manual and 22/26 on the automatic. At the top of the line the B4000 SE Cab +4 with the automatic gets 16/20.

All models of the 2007 Mazda B-Series trucks have occupant protection via a full array of front airbags. The bag shielding the passenger’s seat includes a deactivation switch. Additionally, the doors contain beams designed to absorb the impact of a collision from the side.

    Post tags:

However, the B-Series has seen minimal improvement or change within the past 10 years, leaving it somewhat outdated and lacking the refinement of most of the other small trucks in its class and price range.

The B-Series consists of two body styles (a regular and an extended cab) that are available in three variations. The B2300 is available with rear wheel drive only and comes with a regular cab. If you are looking for loads of standard features, you will not find them here. However, you will find the B2300 equipped with an AM/FM stereo, 15 inch steel wheels and a sliding rear window. The B4000 is only available with 4 wheel drive and an extended cab that permits access to the tiny back seat via a pair of smaller rear doors. Features include larger 16 inch steel wheels and air conditioning in addition to the standard equipment found on the B2300. Moving up to the more expensive B4000 SE will net you some upscale options including a bed liner, 16 inch alloy wheels, fog lights, skid plates and premium upholstery. Most of these features can be purchased as individual options for the B2300 and the B4000.

The B2300 is equipped with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder that delivers 143 horsepower and is capable of towing a relatively meager 2,260 pounds. The B4000 and B4000 SE both have a more powerful 4.0 liter V6 engine that produces 207 horsepower and earned a tow rating of 5,580 pounds. A 5 speed manual transmission is standard for the B2300 and the B4000, while the B4000 SE comes with a 5 speed automatic that is optional for the lower end models.

The 4.0 liter engine found in the upscale versions of the 2008 Mazda B-Series pickup V6 offers respectable acceleration for this class, and the 5 speed automatic does a fine job of making the most of the available power. All models handle fairly well and are a cinch to get in and out of tight parking spaces due to its compact size. However, the outdated platform tends to be the foundation for a bumpy ride and crowded interior. Its lack of comfort, convenience and safety features does keep the price down, but most consumers looking for a small truck simply want and deserve a little more for their money.

Domestic competition vehicles are the Chevrolet Colorado, Dodge Dakota, GMC Canyon, Ford Explorer Sport Trac and Hummer H3T. Similar overseas makes include Isuzu Truck, Toyota Tacoma, Mitsubishi Raider and Nissan Frontier. Pretty much any of them are out in front of the B-Series these days.

The B-Series comes in three trims: the B2300, Plus 4 B4000 and Plus 4 B4000 SE. The B2300 is a regular cab rear-wheel drive while both B4000s are extended cabs with four-wheel drive. It’s worth noting there are no back seats of any kind in the B4000, so they can only haul cargo in the back of the cab.

The B2300 comes with a 143 horsepower 2.3 liter I4, while the B4000 comes with a 207 horsepower 4.0 liter V6. There is no V8, so the B-Series is chronically underpowered compared to other trucks in its class. The same choice of transmissions is available on the B2300 and the B4000: either the standard five-speed manual or an optional five-speed automatic, both with overdrive. The B4000 SE comes only with the automatic transmission.

Passenger room in the B-Series is restricted, maximum payload is a couple hundred pounds below class at twelve hundred sixty pounds, and the front passenger crash test rating is less than average. In its favor is the fuel economy (for the B2300), price and turning radius. Fuel efficiency for the B2300 is 19 miles per gallon city and 24 miles per gallon highway. However, that drops to 14 miles per gallon city and 17 miles per gallon highway with the B4000.

NHTSA crash ratings are a non-stellar five-star for the front driver and three-star for rollover, with four-star ratings elsewhere. Safety equipment is also less than dazzling. Standard are antilock brakes, tire pressure monitor and driver and passenger airbags. You can get locking tailgate, vehicle anti-theft device and remote keyless entry on one or more models. You cannot get electronic brake assistance, traction control, vehicle stability control or side airbags, period.

A tow-hitch is optional on all models except the SE, where it is standard. There are no really nice standard features. Optional features include tilt wheel and CD player. You cannot get a CD changer, trip computer, power or heated seats or leather anything.

Base price for the B2300 is $16,205, which makes it one of the cheaper, but not the cheapest, pickup trucks in its class. Overall, the 2009 Mazda B-Series Pickup is a truck you should miss. And you should keep missing it until Mazda brings it into the twenty-first century.
